The Catawba Island Township Trustees are seeking residents of the Township who are interested in serving as members or alternates on one of the two zoning boards. Currently, there is an opening for a position on the Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Members are appointed for a five-year term while an alternate member is appointed for a one-year term and substitutes at a meeting when a regular member is absent or has a conflict of interest.
The Zoning Commission usually meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month and is responsible for amendments to the zoning resolution and map.
The Board of Zoning Appeals meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month and hears applications for appeals, variances and conditional uses.
To be considered for a board position your residence of record must be Catawba Island Township and an application for appointed positions is available at the Township Administration Building in the zoning office or by email to zoning@catawbaislandtownship.com. Applications are to be returned to the zoning office.
