Are you interested in joining others who have a passion for providing a valuable service to the residents and businesses of Catawba Island? Catawba Island Volunteer Fire Department (CIVFD) may be just the opportunity that you are looking for.

CIVFD is currently offering opportunities to become an integral part of the department on a volunteer basis. Whether you are currently employed, retired, or otherwise 18 years of age or older, CIVFD provides a rewarding opportunity to join other members of the Catawba Island community to make a difference in the lives of people in distress.

CIVFD provides all training and personal firefighting equipment. No previous firefighter experience is required. In addition to basic firefighter training, CIVFD firefighters train weekly – the second, third and fourth Monday of the month, from 7 to 9 p.m. Stop by the fire department on Monday evenings to tour the department, meet the firefighters, and experience its training exercises.
