The Catawba Island Township Trustees are seeking residents interested in serving as alternates on zoning boards. There are openings on the Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals. Alternate members are appointed for a one-year term and substitute at a meeting when a regular member is absent or has a conflict of interest.
The Zoning Commission usually meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month and is responsible for amendments to the zoning resolution and map. The Board of Zoning Appeals usually meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month and hears applications for appeals, variances and conditional uses.
To be considered for a board position a person’s residence of record must be Catawba Island Township. An application for appointed positions is available at the Township Administration Building in the zoning office or by email to zoning@catawbaislandtownship.com. Applications should be returned to the zoning office.
