The Ottawa County Family Advocacy Center’s 13th annual Dancing with the Stars Fundraiser returned live at Carolyn’s Sunrise Banquet Hall in Millbury, Ohio recently, with more than 200 attended to support the stars as they danced and raised funds to support the work of the center.

The dancers who competed this year were: Brittany Griffin, GenoaBank; Amy Pugh, Port Clinton Police Department; Caylin St. Clair, Commodore Perry Federal Credit Union; and Jennifer Widmer, Ottawa County Auditor.

Caylin St. Clair and dance partner Beth Kreuscher were the overall winners of Dancing with the Stars after raising the most funds.

The overall winners of Dancing with the Stars were Caylin St. Clair and dance partner Beth Kreuscher. They generated the most donations from the crowd to notch the victory.

The Judges Choice winners, as determined by Pat Adkins, Debbie Tester and Bert Fall, were Steve Velasquez and Jennifer Widmer.

The stars had worked with professional dancers from Madison Street Dance and Dance Suave to perfect a routine for the dance competition, all the while raising money in order to earn the coveted mirror ball trophy.  Executive Director Connie Roe of the Ottawa County Family Advocacy Center in Port Clinton opened the evening with remarks on the changes to the program this year that included a smaller group of dancers, a limited audience and new co-hosts, Jim Recker and Ann Duez.

Roe also updated the crowd on the work of the center including the new OCFAC community garden, sunflower field and the greatly expanded summer lunch and fun program.

The lineup of dancers raised over $20,000 making the children and families of Ottawa County the winners!  The OCFAC advocates for the stability and success of the children and families of Ottawa County.  Its mission is to provide compassionate support to children and families as they navigate the educational, legal and social systems of our community.
