About four years ago, four experienced musicians blended their talents to create CC Machine, a high-powered dance music band. CC Machine will be the featured performer on The District Stage on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. as part of Main Street Port Clinton’s 2024 Summer Concert Series.

“We do songs from the 70s to current,” said bandmember Garnet McGladdery.

McGladdery plays lead and backing vocals and lead guitar. CC Machine also includes Cynthia Cruz on lead vocals; Mary Jackson on lead and backing vocals and acoustic guitar; and Chuck Mauk on drums.

McGladdery, Jackson and Mauk toured for several years with country stars Daryle Singletary and Jeff Carson, and they’ve been performing with a Trans-Siberian Orchestra tribute band for about ten years.

“I did the solo thing for a while but got tired of it, and CC Machine then kind of evolved,” McGladdery said.

Cruz adds a new dimension to the mix.

“Cynthia Cruz is a great lead singer. When we play a song, she makes them sound like the record,” McGladdery said. “It’s songs you know.”

CC Machine has been performing at The District since its inception.

“It’s a really good event. You don’t see towns shut down the street for the whole summer and have the community behind it,” McGladdery said. “And the production is good. The stage is great, and the sound man is experienced.”

McGladdery is looking forward to returning to The District Stage.

“It’s a feel-good event. That’s the best way to put it,” he said. “I want people to come out, have a good time, and dance the night away.”
