Cedar Point won’t open its Sandusky amusement park for the Fourth of July holiday, but officials will light up the sky on Saturday, July 4 with the park’s traditional fireworks show.
Sandusky Bay and Lake Erie boaters will be able to watch the fireworks, and for an up close view, online tickets are being sold at cedarpoint.com to watch the extravaganza from Cedar Point’s main parking lot. The Light Up the Point fireworks show will be a fundraiser for the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, OH Go and the Sandusky State Theatre, which was ravaged by thunderstorms and high winds earlier this month.
Admission to the event is $20 per car. The main parking lot will open at 8 p.m., with a patriotic soundtrack to be broadcast on Sandusky’s 102.7 FM (WCPZ), at 10 p.m. There will be no food or beverage sales.
Cedar Point is scheduled to reopen to season passholders only on Thursday, July 9.
