The annual Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce Dinner & Awards scheduled for April 16 were put on hold by the covid-19 pandemic, and the plan is now to get together some time in the future. Until that can happen, chamber officials felt it was still important to recognize the nominees and winners.
This year’s Chamber of Commerce Award winners are:
Lighthouse Award – Recognizes a business that has made an outstanding contribution in their field. The 2019 winner of the Lighthouse award is the Ottawa County Family Advocacy Center
Beautification Award – This award recognizes a business that has significantly contributed to the aesthetic enhancement of the Greater Port Clinton community either at their place of business or at another area in the city or county (i.e. a park or public area). The 2019 winner of the Beautification Award is the Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus
New Business – This award recognizes a business that opened in 2019. The 2019 New Business Award goes to Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Port Clinton Waterfront.
Outstanding Citizen – Recognizes an individual who through their hard work and achievements have contributed to the citizens and/or the well-being of the business community of Ottawa County. The 2019 Outstanding Citizen is Port Clinton Police Chief Rob Hickman.
Member of the Year – The most prestigious award given that recognizes the overall contribution of the business or individual to the Chamber, the community, and the business environment of the Port Clinton Area including Ottawa County. The 2019 Member of the Year is Safe Harbor Lakefront Marina.
Main Street Port Clinton Award winners are:
Volunteer of the Year – Casey Madison
Main Street Business of the Year – Fisherman’s Wharf
