Charles E. Oglesbee, Jr., 72, of Port Clinton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, Oct. 18. He was born on July 5, 1949, in Port Clinton, the son of Charles E. and Rushie (Butler) Oglesbee, Sr. On Oct. 6, 1973, he married the love of his life Virginia Nieman and she survives.
Chuck worked for USCO, Standard Products, and Port Clinton City Schools until his retirement in Jan. 2016. He enjoyed working on cars, watching a good movie, and relaxing after a long day.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ginny; brothers, Jim Oglesbee and Dave (Annette) Oglesbee; step-mother, Teresa Oglesbee; step-sisters, Janet (Bruce) Jett, Sherie (Robert) Kromer and Michelle (Stephen) Vandrak; step-brother, Mike (Heidi) Oglesbee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patty Oglesbee; and brother, Dennis Oglesbee.
Visitation and Funeral Services were held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, on Friday, Oct. 22, with Pastor Dane Meuschke officiating. Burial followed at Riverview Cemetery in Port Clinton.
