Charles Raymond Simon, 83, of Port Clinton, and formerly of Jacksonville, Fla. passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. He was born July 22, 1938, in Port Clinton, the son of Richard and Margaret (Novoselec) Simon.
Charles was a graduate of Port Clinton High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He married Charlotte “Charlie” Coursen and she preceded him in death in 2016. He was a supervisor for the United States Postal Service in Jacksonville, FL. Retiring in 1992. He was previously a Cub Master in Jacksonville, Fla. Surviving are his sister: Gloria Simon of Port Clinton; nieces: Linda (Jerry) Zelms of Port Clinton, Lisa Zekany of Hendersonville, Tenn.; sons: Steve Simon and Jeff Simon of Jacksonville, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Charlie and sister: Dorothy (Tony) Zekany.
