When Cory Jolly of the CJTK Trio moved back to Ohio in 2018, he brought back home a successful music career that he poured into local performances at venues like The Gristmill in Port Clinton, The Gathering in Findlay, Jamestown Tavern in Marblehead and The Garrison in Fremont. On Aug. 9, the CJTK Trio will be the featured performer at RiverFront Live in The District in downtown Port Clinton.

Jolly’s career got a kickstart when he earned a bachelor’s degree in jazz studies from Bowling Green State

University. While still in college, he performed with the Detroit Jazz Festival, the Jazz Education Network in Atlanta, and the Black Swamp Arts Festival.

After graduating and moving to Athens, Georgia, Jolly performed with many groups on vocals, guitar and mandolin. He was the guitarist for American Idol star Tyler Sloan, and he was part of the Jazz Big Band on the Disney Cruise Line.

Today, in addition to performing, Jolly is an instructor at Terra State Community College, where he teaches voice, guitar, piano, music theory and aural skills.

The CJTK Trio’s RiverFront Live outdoor performance will begin at 6 p.m. The audience is welcome to purchase dinner from one of Port Clinton’s many amazing restaurants to enjoy at picnic tables during the concert.
