During Community Christmas, Island Sham Farmhouse hand-poured candle shop will feature a store-wide sale, an Ugly Sweater Selfie Contest and kids’ crafts.
Christmas will come early to the city when Main Street Port Clinton hosts Community Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event will offer fun for the whole family.
Kids can visit over 20 businesses to enjoy a variety of holiday activities. They can have their face painted, make ornaments, decorate cookies and play games, among other fun events.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with children at the historic Island House during the event, and adults are invited to sample chili at several businesses during the 7th Annual Chili Tasting Competition. Community Christmas will feature the 7th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade which will end with a Tree Lighting Ceremony at Adams Street Park.
Parents can find gifts for their children at several shops, including Gully’s Lake Wear which sells plushies, toys and Grinch-wear for kids of all ages. Lakelynn Littles & Home offers children’s apparel and toys, and Port Clinton Candy Company has a shop full of sweet holiday goodies and stocking stuffers.
“We have Christmas Peeps, special holiday Jelly Bellies, Old Fashioned Mix, candy-filled ornaments and Chocolate Walleyes, including peppermint Walleyes,” said Tiffany Bassett of Port Clinton Candy Company.
Unique gift shop, which offers an elegant mix of home décor, gifts and art, will be open during Community Christmas.
“I’ll have a drawing, and I’ll serve hot chocolate and little treats,” said Unique owner Debbie Coppeler.
During Community Christmas, Island Sham Farmhouse will feature its hand-poured candle shop. Customers can enter to win a raffle basket and compete in an Ugly Sweater Selfie Contest in the store. Kids can make a cinnamon stick Christmas ornament.
