Join the Oak Harbor Public Library on Tuesday, July 11 at 6 p.m. to celebrate the Village of Oak Harbor community heroes and Arbor Day. Gather at Veterans Park Shelter House in Oak Harbor for some fun for all ages — and prizes!
As part of its All Together Now Summer Reading Program the library, during the month of July, is asking for donations of children’s new underwear, new socks, pajamas, and toddler clothes. All donations go to the Clothing Corral in Oak Harbor. Please drop clothing off at the library during regular library hours.
Storytime for preschoolers: Every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the children’s area of the library.
Just for Adults:
60 Plus Clinic at the library. Provided by the Ottawa County Health Department on Wednesday, July 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The clinic provides basic services to people 60-plus, such as blood pressure screening, cholesterol screening and health education at no charge. To schedule an appointment call the Ottawa County Health Department at 419-734-6800.
Watercolor on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Bring your own supplies and join others who enjoy the art of watercolor.
Needle Crafts Group on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Bring your own supplies and see what others are making.
Pinochle every Friday at 2 p.m.

“Coffee and a Book” book club, meets on Wednesday, July 12 at 11 a.m. in the library meeting room. Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams is a beautiful book about the joys of reading and connecting with people. Pick up your copy of this fiction book, read, and join us for a discussion. The 4th Tuesday Book Club is Tuesday, July 25, at 6 p.m. at the library. True Biz by Sara Novic is an unforgetable jouney into the deaf community and a celebration of human connection. Pick up a copy of the book from the library, read and join them for a discussion. New Members welcome.
Library hours for the Oak Harbor Public Library, 147 E. Main St., Oak Harbor are: Monday – Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Saturday: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Oak Harbor Public Library will be closed on Tuesday, July 4 for Independence Day and will close early at 4 p.m., on July 3 for Oak Harbor’s fireworks celebration.
The Local History & Museum Center is open, Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. A local historian is on site most Thursdays.
