County Humane Society holds election at annual meeting

The Humane Society of Ottawa County will hold its HSOC Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. at Que Barbeque and Brew, 8975 E. Harbor Rd., Port  Clinton. A general election will be held. Four incumbent Board of Directors are running for reelection: Lara Bischoff, Diane Hopkins, Marty Mortus and Sue Sradeja. There is one new candidate, Sara LeMarca.

Members of the Humane Society of Ottawa County are eligible to vote. Members include anyone who adopted a pet from the shelter in 2020; volunteers at the shelter on a regular basis; employees of the Humane Society of Ottawa County; or donated to the Humane Society of Ottawa County in 2020.

Ballots are available at the Humane Society office. Ballots can be mailed out or emailed, on request, by calling 419-734-5191. Ballots must be returned by 5 p.m. on Jan 5. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor during the annual meeting. Those in attendance must wear face masks and practice social distancing.
