Ottawa County will continue to receive a limited number of COVID-19 vaccine from the State of Ohio in the following weeks. Vaccination of group 1B for 80 years and older will continue on Jan. 28-29 until completed.

Those people 75 and older will be added as vaccine becomes available.

Approximately 420 Ottawa County residents were vaccinated this past week. However, demand for the vaccine still greatly exceeds its availability. There are more than 900 Ottawa County residents over the age of 80 currently registered and awaiting their vaccination.

Providers in Ottawa County include the Ottawa County Health Department, Magruder Hospital, and Kroger Pharmacy. The Ottawa County Health Department and Magruder Hospital will continue contacting those that have pre-registered on the Ottawa County Health Department’s website to arrange appointments for vaccinations.

Vaccinations will be by appointment only and scheduled by the Ottawa County Health Department and Magruder Hospital. There will be no walk-ins accepted. Register by going to the Ottawa County Health Department’s website, calling 2-1-1 or contacting Ottawa County Senior Resources at 419-898-6459 or toll-free 877-898-6459.

If you have pre-registered, you will receive a call from either the Health Department or Magruder Hospital to schedule your appointment within a few weeks. You will be assigned a time and location when you are called. Please do not call to request an appointment.

All appointments will be prioritized by age group and guidelines outlined by the state. Your patience is appreciated as we continue to try to move forward in the safest way for our community.
