Create sidewalk art in Spiegel Grove rose garden

Aug 11, 2021 | Entertainment | 0 comments

Help the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums in Fremont celebrate First Lady Lucy Hayes’ upcoming birthday by decorating the rose garden path at Spiegel Grove with sidewalk chalk this month.

To participate, stop in the museum on days it is open to the public and pick up chalk. Then create chalk art on the pathway to the rose garden. Please keep chalk art to this area only.

The rose garden path is located directly behind the Hayes Home and is marked with signs. When finished, please return the chalk to the museum front desk. This activity is free and open to all ages.

First Lady Lucy Hayes loved flowers, butterflies, birds, trees and spending time outdoors and fishing. Brightening this outdoor path would honor her memory as her birthday approaches on Saturday, Aug. 28.

Museum open hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
