Lakers lose lead late, fall to St. Joseph CC

DANBURY TWP. — Danbury had the lead in the fourth quarter but was unable to put St. Joseph Central Catholic away before falling, 51-44.
The Crimson Streaks were able to force some turnovers that were converted into baskets and they held off the Lakers, outscoring them in the fourth quarter, 16-9.
“I was proud of the way team played,” said Danbury coach Nate Keller. “We had a lead in the fourth quarter but St. Joe picked up the pressure late and we turned the ball over too much.”
Blake Michael led SJCC (6-5, 2-4 SBC River) with 20 points and Brody Deck chipped in with 12.
Ian Kuzma led the Lakers (4-7, 2-4) with 18 points and Kaden Conrad chipped in with 10.
New Riegel 60, Danbury 40
New Riegel outscored Danbury by 10 points in the first quarter and never looked back in its 60-40 victory.
“We struggled to score and New Rigel had an exceptional night shooting the ball,” said Danbury coach Nate Keller. “I think they made 10 3-pointers.”
Nick Reinhart led all scorers with 23 points, including four 3-pointers and Chris Acree added 10 points.
Ian Kuzma led the Lakers with 14 points and Saylor Evans scored 11.
Lakers fall to New Riegel

NEW RIEGEL — Danbury led by two points at halftime but New Riegel took control in the third quarter and defeated the Lakers, 39-29. The Blue Jackets (3-6, 3-3 SBC River) trailed 20-18 at halftime but outscored Danbury, 15-6, in the third quarter to take a 33-26 lead.
Aubrey Bouillon led New Riegel with 12 points and Sydney Hohman finished with eight points. The Lakers (4-7, 2-4) got a team-high eight points from Kayla Welter.
