DANBURY – The Danbury Lakers boys varsity basketball team is 2-12 overall and 1-9 in the Sandusky Bay-River Conference. Danbury lost to the Hopewell-Louden Chieftains 66-38 in an away conference game on Thursday, Jan. 23. Hopewell-Louden is 5-7 overall and 5-5 in the Sandusky Bay-River Conference, which places them fifth in the standings. Hopewell-Louden had 10 players score in the game, with Ashton Martin scoring 14 points to lead the scoring. For Danbury, Tyler Harris led the scoring with 18 points, and Frankie Kovach added 14 points.

The Danbury Lakers girls basketball team remains in first place in the Sandusky Bay-River Conference with a record of 14-2 overall and 11-1 in conference games. Danbury was on the road for a conference match-up against the Lakota Raiders on Jan. 18, which they won 40-32. Danbury would then travel to take on the Old Fort Stockaders for a conference game on Friday, Jan. 24. Danbury won 57-26. At the end of the first quarter, Danbury led 26-4, then made it 39-6 at the half. Danbury increased their lead to 50-15 in the fourth quarter.
