The Danbury Township Board of Trustees will meet in executive session on Monday, Dec. 11 at 5:15 p.m. and again at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12 for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the position of Danbury Township Fire Chief.

The Township Trustees Board will convene at Danbury Township Hall, 5972 Port Clinton Eastern Rd., on both days, said Dianne M. Rozak of the Danbury Township Board of Trustees.

Present Fire Chief Keith Kahler of the Danbury Volunteer Fire Department had announced his plans to retire in April 2024 after shepherding the completion in 2022 of the new state-of-the-art Danbury Township Fire Station at 7870 E. Harbor Road, a $6.2 million facility. The 26,000-square-foot fire station has received rave reviews from the community and the volunteer firemen stationed there.
