Lake Erie Shores & Islands, the destination marketing organization for Ottawa and Erie counties, is proud to present an in-person educational seminar for businesses, organizations, and municipalities interested in learning more about travel and tourism marketing, branding, and placemaking.
Part of the organization’s popular Compass Learning Series of low-cost educational programming, Lake Erie Shores & Islands is bringing in world-renowned destination expert Roger Brooks from Destination Development Association for a presentation and Q&A session. The event will be held on Monday, May 24 at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions at 9 a.m., with registration and networking beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Brooks will present “SHIFT HAPPENS: The Ten Biggest Trends in Tourism and How To Tap Into Them.” In this fascinating, fast-paced and inspiring workshop, Brooks will share the fastest growing trends and how they are changing the way we shop, live, and travel – and how to tap into them while working with a minuscule (or devastated) budget.
Tapping into these trends will increase local and visitor spending and post-COVID recovery. Business leaders and support staff will love this workshop and perhaps best of all, Brooks will focus on ways you can do this while working within a budget.
Over the past 30 years as a tourism expert and speaker, Brooks has helped thousands of people transform ordinary places, businesses, and attractions into incredibly successful destinations. One of the most recognized and frequently quoted experts in the travel industry, Brooks inspires and empowers audiences around the world to achieve their highest aspirations.
Pre-registration is required to join the event at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions. Cost is $10 and can be paid via credit card with online registration or with cash or check at the door. Businesses are encouraged to send as much staff as they can. Registration for five or more persons from the same organization will be a flat rate of $50. Contact Lake Erie Shores & Islands Partner Relations Manager, Mackenzie Toll, at email@example.com or call 419-624-6910 with questions or to register more than five persons.
