Dorothy June Buchman, 97 of Port Clinton, died Friday, Dec. 29, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Toledo, to the late Ernest H. and Frances C. (Russert) Ganther. She was a 1944 graduate of Port Clinton High School. On May 10, 1947 she married Justin L. Buchman who preceded her in death March 11, 1974. She worked as a secretary for Vita Plate Battery, Lawyers Title Agency, and retired as a legal secretary for Attorney Wendy Wood. Dorothy was a hard worker, she was often self-taught, she took pride in her job. Putting her name on her work, meant she gave 100%. It was Dorothy approved.

Dorothy was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. Being involved with her church was the utmost importance to her. She was active in both Church Choirs, Altar Rosary Society, and Church Counsel. She was an avid Bridge player. Taking pride in being called “A thorn in my side” by another master Bridge player.

Survivors include her children: Susan (Ron) Hogan of Port Clinton, Jeffrey (Julie) Buchman of East Helena, Mont., Cheryl (Dale) Hall of Oak Harbor, Mary (Michael) Zimmerman of Sandusky, Craig Buchman of Naples, Fla., and Laura (Michael) White of Port Clinton; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son Christopher P. Buchman, daughter-in-law Wendy R. Buchman and sisters Suzanne Hauser and Virginia Sartor.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Port Clinton Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10am on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton with Rev. Jonathan Wight celebrant. Burial will be in Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial Contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Online condolences may be shared with the family at
