Centuries-old Drum Circle ceremonies are practiced all over the world to bring communities together to share a vision of healing and growth. Soul Stretch Yoga, 3865 E. Wine Cellar Rd., Catawba Island will host its second Sunset Drum Circle on Friday, Oct. 2 at 5:30 p.m., as well to support the Ruth Ann House in Port Clinton.
The Sunset Drum Circle is free. A minimum donation of $10 for Ruth Ann House, a transitional housing program for women and children in an abusive situation, is welcome. Ruth Ann House also offers support groups and informational opportunities for women and families.
The Sunset Drum Circle will bring together live music and the healing vibrations of a Drum Circle, said Rose Sabin of Soul Stretch Yoga, which has a large, open lawn for the event. Bring chairs and blankets for family and friends.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a Candle Circle for world peace, followed by The Island Songs Trio providing live music. The Sunset Drum Circle will begin at sunset, which is 7:09 p.m. Sabin will kick off the circle with a 5-minute guided meditation celebrating the abundance of the Autumn Equinox and the Harvest Moon.
