The Oak Harbor Rockets boys varsity basketball team was on the road for a Northern Buckeye Conference game against the Eastwood Eagles on Friday, Feb. 14, which was the Eastwood Eagles Senior Night. The Eagles were the winners, 74-41. Oak Harbor had the early lead, 15-13. Eastwood started their comeback, and at the half, Eastwood led 36-24. In the second half, Eastwood outscored Oak Harbor 38-17.

Leading the Oak Harbor scoring was Carson Steinbrick with 12 points. Senior guard Michael Lalonde III scored eight points. Senior forward Gavin Witt added seven points. Junior wing Cooper Schultz scored five points. Senior wing Jaxson Overmyer had three points. Sophomore guard Braxtin Witt and junior center Alex Rife each added two points.

The Oak Harbor Rockets’ record is 4-15 overall. The Rockets are in sixth place in the Northern Buckeye Conference with a record of 3-10 and are ranked 674 in Ohio.

The Oak Harbor Lady Rockets varsity basketball team has wrapped up the 2024-2025 basketball season. The Lady Rockets have a record of 16-5 overall. The Rockets are in first place in the Northern Buckeye Conference with a 13-1 record, and they are ranked 132 in Ohio.

The Oak Harbor Rockets were to have traveled to Huron to take on the Huron Tigers on their Senior Night on Saturday, Feb. 8. Due to the icy weather conditions, the game was canceled.

The Oak Harbor Lady Rockets played a sectional title game against the Lake Flyers on Thursday, Feb. 13. Oak Harbor lost a close game, 44-40. The game was close throughout three-quarters of play. Scoring for Oak Harbor were Sami Tack and Brooklynne Tabbert with 11 points each, and Karder Haas added eight points for Oak Harbor.
