Easter Bunny finally hops back into town

Because of health department restrictions, the Port Clinton Easter Egg Hunt on the Lakeview Park grass turned into a drive-thru affair on Saturday. The Easter Bunny was ready to hand out the goodies at Lakeview Park, with help from Port Clinton official Sandy Ostheimer.

A little sprinkle was not going to get in the way of Port Clinton’s Easter Egg Hunt as city officials tried to bring back spring events that were among a rush of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a part of the Rewind Day! activities, city officials rounded up the hundreds of plastic eggs that were to have been given away in April, and made a lot of local kids very happy with a drive-thru Easter Bunny handing out the goodies at Lakeview Park.

The volunteers brought out the umbrellas, and a lot of families drove their youngsters to Lakeview Park for the special treat.

While the Easter Egg Hunt and the Incredible Rubber Duck Race were both hits on Saturday, much of the rescheduled festivities had to be postponed once again due to a threat of thunderstorms much of the day. That included the Fourth of July Fireworks and the Walleye Fest Concert in downtown Port Clinton.
