Emergency heating assistance available through March

Mar 4, 2020 | Around Ottawa County | 0 comments

Emergency utility assistance through Great Lakes Community Action Partnership’s Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP) will continue to be available now through March 31.

EHEAP provides emergency financial assistance for residents who are at risk of a utility shut-off in Ottawa, Wood, Sandusky, and Seneca counties. EHEAP can also help households purchase wood, kerosene, propane or other bulk fuel supplies.

March 31 will also be the final day residents may apply for a utility or bulk fuel bill credit through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) for the year. This credit is available once per year for Ohioans at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty level (e.g. $45,062.50/family of four).
Scheduling and details on EHEAP and HEAP assistance is available online at glcap.org/winterheating or glcap.org/heap, or by calling 888-441-4327.
