Farmers Market, Harvest Happenings in Fremont on Oct. 19

Downtown Fremont Inc. will be hosting the Croghan Colonial Bank Farmers Market & ProMedica Memorial Hospital Harvest Happenings Events on Front Street on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and the Farmers Market has many spooky activities for children of all ages.

South Creek Clydesdales will have a 2-hour extensive set-up that starts at 9 a.m. at Croghan and Front Streets that will show what goes into getting the horses ready for an event. Haunted Hydro will have a Costume Parade at 10:30 a.m. through the market.

A Pumpkin Decoration Contest for carved and uncarved pumpkins will take place at noon at the intersection of Garrison and Front Streets. All pumpkins should be decorated by adults and kids at home and dropped off at the intersection of Garrison and Front Streets starting at 9 a.m. No registration is needed.

Throughout the market will be pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, face painting, community coloring page and Chris Fry, the Chalk Goblin, will be creating interactive sidewalk chalk drawings. Downtown Fremont businesses and vendors within the market will be participating in Trick or Treat from 10 a.m.-noon, which allows children to go to stores or vendors that display an orange balloon to receive candy. There are lots of interactive activities to keep all those little goblins busy.

Front Street will be closed from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. on from Croghan Street to Birchard Avenue for the event.
