The Reverend Beverly Collinsworth, pastor of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, will be the featured speaker at the Port Clinton Community Worship Service this year. Rev. Collinsworth will take her text from Deuteronomy and her message will be called “The First Thanksgiving.”
The service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 135 Adams St., Port Clinton, at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov 19, and the community is encouraged to attend.
The clergy host will be Warren Brown, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church. Other area ministers will also participate in the program, which has been planned by the Port Clinton Ministerial Association.
Thanksgiving hymns will be offered throughout the service and a religious anthem will be sung by a community choir under the direction of Carrie Sanchez. Anyone wishing to sing with the choir may attend a one-time rehearsal beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The accompanist will be John Wallrabenstein on the pipe organ of the church.
On-street parking is available, in addition to in the parking lots at the side and rear of the church. Women from the host church will serve light refreshments following the service.
