After multiple, unavoidable delays, Port Clinton’s Forward Looking Infrastructure Project (FLIP) has officially begun. The first FLIP bid opening, for a sidewalk and a crosswalk light on Lakeshore Dr., was held at Port Clinton City Hall on March 26. The crosswalk will be constructed between Mr. Ed’s Bar & Grille and Dock’s Beach House.

Ben Black from Kleinfelder opened the bids. Port Clinton Mayor Mike Snider said four companies submitted bids, which are under review by the Ohio Department of Transportation. The crosswalk project is the first step into FLIP, which will include citywide street improvements that are set to begin this year.
