Elliot Auxter, Kailey Kilgore, Lucille Schneider, and Elena Schroeder were awarded this year’s $1,000 scholarships from First National Bank, announced Dean Miller, President and CEO of First National Bank. The students were chosen to receive these awards, said Miller, after they had distinguished themselves through outstanding academic achievement and personal excellence.
The First National Bank (FNB) Scholarship was established in 2019 for customers of First National Bank. The applicant or the applicant’s parents, legal guardians, or grandparents must be an established customer who has had a relationship with FNB for at least one year.
The $1,000 scholarship is for a graduating senior who attends a school in their local market area and plans to attend a post-secondary accredited school for a 2-year or 4-year degree in the immediate school year following graduation.
The eligible high schools located in their market area include Ottawa, Erie, Huron, Sandusky and Seneca counties.
Auxter graduated from Port Clinton High School in May. He will be attending Ohio University this fall, majoring in biology with a focus in pre-dental. Auxter is busy working this summer at the Catawba Island Club. He is the son of Kim and Angela Auxter and lives in Port Clinto
Kilgore graduated from Bellevue High School and is planning to attend Bowling Green State University-Firelands, where she will be majoring in biology with a focus in pre-health and pre-med. She is working this summer as a lab assistant at Firelands Regional Medical Center and also at Miller’s Drive-In.
Kilgore is the daughter of Jason and Amy Kilgore of Bellevue.
Schneider graduated from Put-In-Bay High School and will be attending Kent State University this fall. She is planning to major in Visual Communications Design. Employed as a Natural Resource Worker at Middle Bass Island State Park, she is the daughter of John and Kathryn Schneider and lives on Middle Bass Island.
Schroeder graduated from Put-In-Bay High School. She will be attending Montana State University and majoring in microbiology. This is her seventh summer working as a barista at Topsy Turvey’s Bar and Grill. She is the daughter of Brit and Marie Schroeder of Put-In-Bay.
