The Vanguard-Sentinel Aspire program is accepting students for free classes to help adults improve in reading, math, writing or basic skills. Aspire classes are available for adults interested in obtaining a GED or preparing for college, an apprenticeship, an adult certificate training program, or additional workforce training.

Aspire can help adult learners improve their academic skills and create a pathway to a better future. Orientation to the Aspire program is required before enrollment in classes. Attend orientation to set goals, complete placement testing and develop an individualized learning plan.

The next orientation dates are: Vanguard Adult Workforce Development Center in Fremont on Oct. 1 and Oct. 3 at 9 a.m. or 5 p.m.; The Ottawa County Resource Centre (419-960-2025) in Oak Harbor on Oct. 7 and Oct. 9 at 9 a.m.; and the Ida Rupp Public Library (419-960-2025) in Port Clinton on Oct. 8 and Oct. 10 at 5 p.m.
