FREMONT, Ohio – Holly Jolly Events and an early appearance by Santa will light up Downtown Fremont and get the holiday season started. The Tree Lighting on Friday, Nov. 29 is at 7 p.m. and the Small Business Saturday Shop Hop is on Saturday, Nov. 30. Attendance to the events is free.

The Tree Lighting will take place at the corner of Front and State Streets by The Santa House Downtown from 5-7 p.m., and before the lights go on, Santa will be in his house for children’s visits. Santa will also have kids on his lap from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30.

To kick off the Tree Lighting, there will be carolers and a hot cocoa wagon with cookies to get everyone in a holiday spirit. Small Business Saturday Shop Hop is an effort to support local shops that make our communities strong. This event encourages people to Shop Small and bring more holiday shopping to small businesses.

From Nov. 29 through Dec. 16, for every $10 you spend at a participating downtown retail business, your name will be added into two drawings held on Monday, Dec. 16. The first name drawn receives 250 Downtown
Fremont Dollars. The second name out receives 100 Downtown Fremont Dollars. Downtown Dollars are redeemable at the many participating Downtown Fremont stores.
