Oak Harbor rolls to 6th straight, 56-0
Jaqui Hayward scored on a tremendous 73-yard touchdown run early in the game and Dalton Witter notched three TDs on the ground as Oak Harbor (6-0) raced past visiting Fostoria last Friday, the sixth straight victory of their undefeated season.
It was an overwhelming 56-0 win as the Rockets have dominated both offensively and defensively this season in the Northern Buckeye Conference. In addition to being a scoring machine, Oak Harbor has only allowed three touchdowns in their six games this season.
Ethan Stokes put the Rockets on the board first with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Mike LeLonde, followed by Hayward’s long touchdown run. Witter’s first touchdown, a 6-yard run, put Oak Harbor up 21-0 at halftime.
Oak Harbor will host Otsego (2-4) this Friday, and challenge the Genoa Comets, who are 5-1 this year, on Friday, Oct. 6.
Huron’s passing attack drubs Port Clinton, 38-0
Huron’s passing attack was too much for Port Clinton on Friday night, as quarterback Cody Scoggins passed for 180 yards and three touchdowns and a rugged defense kept Port Clinton in check. The Redskins had three early pass interference penalties in the first half which didn’t help, all of them giving way to scoring drives for the Tigers.
After a slow start, Scroggins recovered to connect on 13 of 20 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns. Beau Harkelroad was a major target with eight catches for 150 yards and a touchdown.
The Tigers improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the SBC Bay Division and will make a trip to Bellevue on Friday.
Port Clinton has now lost four straight and will go on the road against Vermilion (3-3) this Friday.
Genoa’s Aiden-to-Stewart duo rocks Otsego, 48-19
Quarterback Aiden Brunkhorst only threw 10 passes for the Genoa Comets last Friday night, but he was almost perfect, connecting on nine of 10
throws for 282 yards. Brunkhorst connected on three touchdown passes to Denver Stewart, covering 71, 18 and nine yards.
Aidan Antry and Alex Spencer slammed the door on Otsego. Antry ran for 49-yard and two-yard touchdowns in the first half and Spencer added TD runs of 37 and 15 yards in the second half.
The Comets (5-1, 3-0) will face a Northern Buckeye Conference rival this Friday, entertaining Maumee (3-3, 1-2). Then comes the game of the year in Ottawa County as undefeated Oak Harbor, now 6-0, invades Genoa on Friday, Oct. 6.
