OAK HARBOR – Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge invite the community to kick off the holiday season with a festive Holiday Open House on Sunday, Dec. 7, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center.

This family-friendly celebration will feature cookies, hot cocoa, hot dogs, and popcorn, along with make-your-own wildlife-themed ornaments. Special guests include Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will be on hand for photos and holiday cheer. Visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture the magic. The Refuge’s Wildlife Drive will also be open from sunrise to one hour before sunset, weather permitting.

Guests can shop for unique holiday gifts in the Rookery Nature Store and browse items from local vendors set up throughout the Visitor Center. There will also be a door prize basket that guests can enter to win. The event is free and open to all ages.
