Full orchestra to play Marblehead Lighthouse July 2; Cleveland Trombone Collective to play Port Clinton June 13

In cooperation with  the Greater Port Clinton Arts Council’s “Evening Out with Art,” the Cleveland Trombone Collective will be featured at Port Clinton’s MOM Area on Monday, June 13 at 6 p.m.

The Firelands Symphony Orchestra (FSO) has opened its summer season with its Around Town Tour, and on Monday, June 13 will offer the Cleveland Trombone Collective at the Meals on Madison area in downtown Port Clinton at 6 p.m. The performance is in cooperation with  the Greater Port Clinton Arts Council’s “Evening Out with Art.”

The Around Town Tour events are free and open to the public, due to generous support from: Erie County Community Foundation, Ottawa County Community Foundation, and the Ohio Arts Council.

Co-founded by J.C. Sherman, principal tubist of the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Trombone Collective is an ensemble of several trombonists — including members of the Cleveland Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Opera Cleveland, The Blossom Festival Band, Tommy Dorsey Big Band, Guy Lombardo Orchestra and many others.

In addition to the Around Town Tour, the full Firelands Symphony Orchestra will perform two free patriotic pops concert: One performance on Saturday, July 2 at 7:30 p.m.. at the Marblehead Lighthouse, which is observing its 200th anniversify this year, and an encore performance on Monday, July 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Sandusky’s Jackson Street Pier.

In addition, tickets are now on sale for the Firelands Symphony Chorale’s performance of Beethoven’s Mass in C major on Sunday, July 24 at 4 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sandusky.
