Gary Coon joins Port Clinton Board of Education

Gary Coon (left) was sworn in as a Port Clinton Board of Education member by Treasurer Jeff Dornbusch on Monday.

Gary Coon joined the Port Clinton Board of Education on Monday, Aug. 23 to fill the vacancy of long time board member Barb Drusbacky, who passed away in July. He will bring his expertise as a financial advisor for Edward Jones Investments along with being a father of a recent Port Clinton High School graduate.

Coon has served on the Port Clinton City School District Financial Advisory Committee and was selected following an application and interview process. The Port Clinton Board of Education include President Beth Benko, Vice President Michele Mueller, David Belden and Paul Shaw.

“I believe in quality public education for current and future students.  I look forward to working with parents, teachers, and staff to achieve success with the children as the ultimate focus,”  said Coon on his board of education application. He lives in Port Clinton with his wife Michelle, and son Mitchell.
