GENOA – GenoaBank, a locally owned, independent, community bank, is pleased to announce the promotion of Erick Scharer to Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
In his new role, Erick Scharer will oversee all financial operations of the bank, including financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and long-term financial strategy. His leadership will play a critical role in supporting GenoaBank’s continued growth, operational strength, and commitment to delivering value to customers and shareholders.
Scharer has been a dedicated member of the GenoaBank team for several years, most recently serving as Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, and Facilities Manager. He has demonstrated strong financial expertise, disciplined decision-making, and a deep understanding of the organization’s strategic priorities.

Scharer is a graduate of Northwood High School and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Toledo, followed by a Master’s degree in Finance from Tiffin University. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf with friends and colleagues.
