More than 3,500 competitors and their families are going to travel to Ottawa County this summer to compete in the 2023 CMP National Trophy Rifle and Pistol Matches, Smallbore Rifle Matches, Air Rifle and Air Pistol Championships, CMP Games Events and Long Range Matches held at Camp Perry.
The prestigious National Matches will return to Camp Perry in Port Clinton for the pistol, small bore and high-powered rifles competitions on July 7-Aug. 5.
To welcome the competitors and their families from around the U.S. — who are major supporters many of the businesses in the area and are a substantial source of revenue for the area — it’s time to get involved with the popular Competitor Discount Program.
To provide a warm welcome to the competing shooters, the Ottawa County Chambers of Commerce and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) are encouraging businesses to participate in the Competitor Discount Program.
CMP Competitors will be issued a 2023 National Match Souvenir Button to identify them and shooters and their friends and families will be encouraged to visit businesses that display a Competitor Appreciation Certificate.
Businesses may extend a discount or other special offer to competitors wearing this souvenir button. If you choose to participate, your name and a short summary of your business will be featured on an information sheet included in each competitor “Welcome Packet.”
If you wish to participate in the Competitor Discount Program, please complete the form available and return it to the CMP by Wednesday, June 14. You may fill out and submit the form online at https://thecmp.org/l/nm-discount-form/.
The program also provides an opportunity to drop off menus, flyers or coupons to be included in each Competitor Welcome Packet. All materials should be delivered to the CMP, Camp Perry Training Site, Bldg. 3 (CMP Headquarters), Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., no later than Wednesday, June 14th.
If you have any questions, please contact Jackie Slosnerick at the CMP at 419-635-2141 ext. 626 or email jslosnerick@thecmp.org.
