The Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) began its 27th annual People Helping People Campaign this week to raise funds for GLCAP’s People Helping People Fund, which assists low-income individuals and families in Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood counties—GLCAP’s core service region.
This donor-supported fund helps people with needs that go above and beyond those that are covered through GLCAP’s grant-funded programs.
“The fund gives us the flexibility to assist people in our programs with vehicle repairs, medical expenses, and other needs,” GLCAP Public Relations Director Alex Boroff said. “These are the types of needs that we can’t typically cover through our designated grant funds, so People Helping People is an opportunity for GLCAP to expand our ability to support the people we serve.”
Apart from donating, online shoppers may also help GLCAP through AmazonSmile. Shoppers can visit smile.amazon.com, log in, and choose Great Lakes Community Action Partnership as their designated organization to have a portion of their Amazon purchase go to the GLCAP People Helping People Fund.
Those who are interested in donating to the fund may do so online at www.glcap.org/peoplehelpingpeople.
