PORT CLINTON – Guy & Doll Flooring and Décor may need to change its name to “Guy & Doll Flooring and Décor and Pretty Much Everything Else You Need.” In an effort to better meet customer needs and become a one-stop-shop, owners Shawn and Jen Swiczkowski transformed the warehouse in the back of the business into an elegant Kitchen Design Center and began offering cabinets and countertops in addition to waterproof flooring, tile, and carpet.

“Our customers kept asking for cabinets and countertops, so we opened the design center,” Jen said.

But the Swiczkowskis don’t just sell cabinets and countertops. They offer start-to-finish kitchen design and installation services.

“We have all new software with 3D renderings,” Jen said. “Shawn really put his head down and learned it.”

Guy & Doll offers a good, better, and you-design-it “dream” line of kitchen cabinets and countertops.

“Even our good line is very good. It is metal-reenforced and dovetailed,” Jen said.

When a customer walks into the Kitchen Design Center, Shawn and Jen walk them through the thousands of options as they choose wood, stain, finish, and color. They can add special elements like wine racks, spice racks, coffee bars, and custom lighting.

The Port Clinton/Marblehead/Catawba area has its own coastal style that is popular with homeowners.

“We use a lot of coastal colors here, a lot of grays and browns,” Shawn said. “And wine racks are really popular here.”

Guy & Doll also serves commercial clients.

“We’ve worked with the Lakeside Association since we opened,” Shawn said. “We recently installed a handicap-accessible bathroom at the Fountain Inn in Lakeside.”

Whether they are working for residential or commercial customers, Shawn and Jen are willing to do what it takes to make their customers’ visions come to life.

“We love designing for people,” Jen said. “We do total kitchen remodels. We’ll move walls and windows, and we do wiring and plumbing.”

Whether customers come in with a full vision or no vision at all, Shawn and Jen will help them create the kitchen of their dreams.

“People say they don’t know what they want, but they do,” Shawn said. “You just have to pull it out of them.”
