Update March 22, 2023: The Ottawa County Engineer’s Office has sent a new notice that this section of road will now be closed until March 31, 2023. We will update this article if anything changes.
According to the Ottawa County Engineer’s Office, a portion of Gypsum Road has been closed for emergency waterline repairs today. Access to the U.S. Gypsum plant is available from the north by taking State Street to Gypsum Road. This closure also impacts a portion of Plasterbed Road as thru traffic is prohibited from Schiewe Road to the southern plant entrance on Gypsum Road.
This is a full closure, no vehicles are permitted through this area until the repairs are complete. The closure is currently scheduled to extend through Friday, March 24, 2023. The impacts and extent of the waterline repairs are unknown at this time. An extension of this closure may be required. We will update if anything changes.
