According to the Ottawa County Engineer’s Office, a portion of Gypsum Road has been closed for emergency waterline repairs today. Access to the U.S. Gypsum plant is available from the north by taking State Street to Gypsum Road. This closure also impacts a portion of Plasterbed Road as thru traffic is prohibited from Schiewe Road to the southern plant entrance on Gypsum Road.

The impacts and extent of the waterline repairs are unknown at this time. An extension of this closure may be required. We will update if anything changes.

The Engineer’s Office asks everyone to keep in mind that schedules are weather depended in subject to change. They’ve asked anyone looking for additional information on this closure to contact U.S. Gypsum at (419) 734-3164.
