PORT CLINTON – Habitat for Humanity of Ottawa County is asking the community to help support its Critical Home Repair Fund, which provides essential home repairs for local seniors and individuals with disabilities who are struggling to remain safe and healthy in their homes.

In recent years, Habitat for Humanity of Ottawa County has assisted dozens of residents with critical needs such as furnaces, plumbing, accessibility ramps, and other health and safety-related repairs. Unfortunately, grant funding that previously supported this work has now been exhausted, while the need in the community continues to grow.

“We currently have many neighbors waiting for help,” said a Habitat representative. “These are seniors and individuals with disabilities who want to age in place, stay independent, and remain part of the neighborhoods they love. Without assistance, many face unsafe or unhealthy living conditions.”

Habitat for Humanity of Ottawa County maintains a separate Critical Home Repair Fund, and 100% of all donations to this fund are used exclusively for critical home repairs. Every dollar stays right here in Ottawa County, helping local residents remain safely housed while also strengthening neighborhoods and preventing further home deterioration.
