A special section in today’s The Beacon will honor the First Responders around Ottawa County. From the fire and rescue folks to law enforcement officials, the brave men and women protect us from harm. It can be difficult and dangerous work, and it can simply be the diligent duties needed to keep their departments efficiently running. This group from the Danbury Volunteer Fire Department were out long after dark on Monday evening at Mazurik State Access Area on Marblehead to flush the many heavy, expensive fire hoses the squads will use throughout the year.
