Harold Edmond Douglass, Jr., 93, of Catawba Island, Ohio, passed away on April 15, 2026, at Fireland Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, OH. Harold was born on December 22, 1932, in Columbus, OH, to parents Harold Edward and Mildred (Bennett) Douglass, Sr. Harold served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Missouri in the Korean War. On June 20, 1958, he married Dorothy Yvonne “Dottie” Perry. Harold started working for JC Penney in the warehouse, then he worked for the US Geological Survey; he was an offset printer and then worked in quality control for International Multi Foods, which later became ConAgra, where he retired in 2006. After retirement he continued to work for Ohio Auto Auctions. He volunteered at the Liberty Aviation Museum and The Marblehead Lighthouse. He was a member of American Legion Post 83 in Sandusky and Moose Lodge 11 in Columbus, Ohio.

Harold is survived by his wife Dorothy Y. “Dottie” Douglass; son David (Soni) Douglass of Howard, OH; step-grandchildren John Shoemaker and Tara Miller; great-grandchildren Lexi Miller and Ava Miller; nephew Harold Douglass of Worthington, OH; niece Donna (Tom) Stumbaugh Tom of Ostrander, OH; and great-niece Audrey Douglass. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law Karen Douglass; and brothers Richard Douglass and Jim Douglass.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday, April 24, 2026, at Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Firelands Presbyterian Church, 2626 E. Harbor Rd.
