The Port Clinton High School Marching Band received a generous donation from Hal and Diane (Warnke) Hawk to help purchase new band uniforms for the PCHS Marching Band.
The Hawk family donation was made in the memory of Earl E. Warnke, Diane Hawk’s father, who instilled the love of music in thousands of students during his many years as the Port Clinton High School Band Director. In 2010, the family sponsored the Earl E. Warnke Music Center at Port Clinton High School, a state of the art band room.
School officials are extremely proud of their music programs and note the Hawk family support is a reason for the strength of the program. The Hawk’s most recent $50,000 donation will help to purchase new band uniforms. Fundraising efforts are underway to replace all the current uniforms, which are 20 years old.
Band uniform fundraising postcards were mailed by the Port Clinton Music Boosters to school district residents. If residents did not receive a postcard and would like to donate, contact Band Director Rod Miller, at 419-734-2147 or rmiller@pccsd-k12.net, or visit www.pccsd.net.
