
Rare flights aboard ‘Huey’ available at Liberty Aviation.
The Liberty Aviation Museum is will welcome Yankee Air Museum’s UH-1 Iroquois, more commonly known as the fabled “Huey” helicopter, for air adventure rides on Saturday and Sunday, June 3-4.
To schedule a ride on either the B-17, B-25, C-47 airplanes or the iconic Huey helicopter, contact 734-252-6457 or airadventures@yankeeairmuseum.org. The 10-minutes of air time aboard the Huey is $125, as well as the briefing and loading/unloading of the helicopter.
Flights are available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., both days.
Reservations can be made online at: https://yankeeairmuseum.org/fly/ Depending on demand, there may be a line waiting for flights. Prepaid and walk up passengers will be processed on a “first come, first served” basis.
Plan on arriving about an hour prior to the time you wish to fly. It usually takes about 45 minutes to sign in and go through the processing and safety briefing. This is a popular program, and people are highly recommend to arrive before 1 p.m. to claim a spot on one of the flights or call the Liberty Aviation Museum to let them know that you are on your way.
Dress appropriately for the weather. They will keep the doors of the Huey open which will make it cooler during flight. Also wear sneakers.
Ear protection is provided. Digital media are welcome aboard to capture the incredible experience.
