Humane Society election kicks off year at Ida Rupp Library

The Humane Society of Ottawa County will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, Jan. 4, immediately following the 6 p.m. regular monthly meeting. These meetings will be held at the Ida Rupp Public Library, 310 Madison St., Port Clinton.

A general election will be held for the Board of Directors. Four incumbent board members are running for reelection: Barb Ayers, Terry Glovinsky, Crystal Cleary and Mary Anne Koebel. There are three open positions on the Board.

Members of the Humane Society of Ottawa County are eligible to vote. Members include anyone who adopted a pet from the shelter in 2023; anyone who volunteers at the shelter on a regular basis; employees of the Humane Society of Ottawa County; and anyone who donated to the Humane Society of Ottawa County in 2023.

Anyone interested in serving on the Board of Directors can obtain an application on the Humane Society website HumaneSocietyofOttawaCounty.org. Click on “Services/Opportunities” and scroll down to the Board application. Nominations for board members will also be accepted form the floor during this annual meeting.
