The Humane Society of Ottawa County needs donated items for its annual yard sale, which will be held on July 12-13 at the shelter, 2424 E. Sand Rd., Port Clinton. Items to be donated can be dropped off at the shelter Tuesday through Saturday, between noon and 5 p.m. Televisions and books will not be accepted this year.
Volunteers are needed to set up and sort items to be sold. Anyone interested in helping can contact the shelter at 419-734-5191 or email hsoc1976@yahoo.com.
Something new at the shelter is the “Clothes Bin.” Any textiles, including clothing, outerwear, footwear, undergarments, handbags, linens, and accessories (hats,belts, ties, scarves ,headbands) that are donated to the Humane Society and not sold at the yard sale, will be re-purposed, recycled or reused.
Any of the listed items that are torn, worn and not suitable to wear or use, can be recycled. The Humane Society earns money for each pound of textiles collected.
