Huron jumped out to an early lead and won easily, defeated Port Clinton, 58-29.
The Tigers led 21-5 after the first quarter and pushed that lead to 38-14 at halftime.
Ava Winnestaffer had 21 points to lead all scorers, including 16 in the first half, while Ray Rolden scored 14 points and Mia Hurst chipped in with eight to lead Huron.
Olivia Jackson had a team-high 12 points and Grace Heilman scored eight points to lead the Redskins.
Port Clinton boys fall to Huron, 63-37
Huron started off the game slowly, failing to score for the game’s first five minutes before turning it on, taking the lead and defeating Port Clinton, 63-37.
The Tigers didn’t score until Michael Holm made a 3-pointer with 2:58 to play in the first quarter to cut the deficit to 5-3, and Huron outscored the Redskins (0-6, 0-2 SBC Bay) 12-0 to take a 15-5 lead.
Huron (5-0, 2-0) won the second quarter, 14-7, to take a 29-12 lead into halftime.
Drew Wennes scored 16 points to lead all scorers and Nic Ritzler finished with 12 points.
The Redskins got a team-high 10 points from Elliot Auxter and seven from Gavin Preston.
