Huron’s big 3rd quarter dooms Rockets

Trailing by two points at halftime, Huron outscored Oak Harbor by 21 points in the third quarter to take control of the game in its 57-32 victory over the Rockets.

The Tigers (4-2, 2-1 SBC Bay) outscored Oak Harbor (3-5, 2-1) 23-2 in the third quarter to take a 45-26 lead and never looked back. Huron held the Rockets to just eight points in the second half.

Cole Parker scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and Dylan Hohler finished with 16 points to lead the Tigers. Blake Booker had 17 points, including five 3-pointers, to pace Oak Harbor.

Port Clinton falls to Margaretta

Margaretta held Port Clinton to just four points in the third quarter and held off a Redskin rally to win 58-53.

The Polar Bears (8-2, 3-0 SBC Bay) jumped out to a 20-4 lead after one quarter but Port Clinton (2-5, 0-3) cut the deficit to 31-25 at halftime. However, Margaretta responded and pushed the lead up to 49-35 after three quarters to put the game away.

Jake Leibacher scored a game-high 26 points and Ben Palomo had 19. Tommy Owens and Adam Thorbahn had 13 points apiece to lead the ‘Skins.

Old Fort routs Danbury

Old Fort controlled things from the outset and defeated Danbury, 90-38. The Stockaders were led by Myles Miller and Colin Nutter, who combined for 56 points. Miller finished with 28 points, 16 of which came in the first half, and Nutter had 28 points.

Old Fort (6-1, 4-1 SBC River) led 27-9 after the first quarter and 54-13 at halftime. Bradley Murray led the Lakers (1-6, 1-5) with 11 points, including three 3-pointers.
