Ida Rupp Library kicks off July with Back to Wild Animal Show

The Ida Rupp Libraries are all gearing up for summer, with a wide range of activities. Starting off the heart of the summer will be the Back to the Wild Animal Show at the Meals on Madison (M.O.M) are on Friday, July 1 at Madison and Second streets in downtown Port Clinton at 10 a.m.

Tech experts will also be available (call-419-732-3212 to reserve time) on July 1 from 10-11 a.m. and 2-3 p.m. A Computer Skills session is available at the Erie islands Library on Saturday, July 2 from 10-11 a.m.

Friday July 1

Downtown Treasure Hunt, Ida Rupp Public Library; All Ages. Stop to grab a treasure map. Then hunt for treasure chests at downtown Madison Street businesses!

Back to the Wild Animal Show @ M.O.M., Ida Rupp Public Library; 10 – 11:30 a.m.; All Ages. Visit downtown Port Clinton Meals On Madison (M.O.M.) for a performance fun for all ages by Back to the Wild! Learn about and interact with animals brought to you by wildlife rehabilitation center Back to the Wild.

One-On-One Tech Help, Ida Rupp Public Library; 10 – 11 a.m. and 2 – 3 p.m.; Adults. Call (419-732-3212) to sign up for a 30-minute one-on-one Tech Help session.

Saturday July 2

Computer Skills 101/201, Erie Islands Library; 10 – 11 a.m.; Adults. Need some help figuring out something on your computer/laptop or phone? University of Dayton IT Specialist Dustin Boyed is on hand with your technology answers. Bring your laptop/phone if you can. Limit 10 people.

Story Time, Ida Rupp Public Library; 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.; Children. Join us at the library for stories, songs and playtime!

Grab & Go Craft Kit – Signal Flag Banner, Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library; Adults. Visit for a Grab & Go Craft Kit with everything needed to make beautiful banner out of marine signal flags! While supplies last.

Interactive Movie Kit – Finding Nemo, Erie Islands Library; All Ages. This month’s interactive movie kit will feature “Finding Nemo.” Limit of 10 kits will be available.

Wednesday July 6

Lake Sturgeon in Lake Erie & Maumee River, Ida Rupp Public Library; 5 – 6 p.m.; Adults. Visit with Eric Adams from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to learn about the historical population and current restoration efforts of lake sturgeon in Lake Erie and the Maumee River.

Thursday July 7

One-On-One Tech Help @IRPL, Ida Rupp Public Library; 10 – 11 a.m. and 2 – 3 p.m.; Adults. Call (419-732-3212) to sign up for a 30-minute one-on-one Tech Help session.

Sandcastle Competition @Lakeview Park & City Beach, Ida Rupp Public Library; 3 – 4 p.m.; Teens. Visit Lakeview Park & City Beach for a sandcastle competition!

Mystery Book Discussion, Ida Rupp Public Library; 7 – 8 p.m.; Adults. Visit Ida Rupp Public Library for a discussion of Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano.

Starfish From Hangers, Erie Islands Library; 5 – 6 p.m.; All Ages. Create your own starfish from ordinary plastic hangers and plastic ties that we will supply.
