Ida Rupp Public Library has made available two Bird Watching Kits for library patrons to borrow. The kits include a pair of binoculars, a bird identification guide book, and directions and information to local birding hotspots neatly packaged into a backpack for easy transport.

These kits were funded by the Friends of the Ida Rupp Public Library, and can be borrowed for one week. Patrons are also encouraged to view the eight volumes of “The Birds of America” by John James Audubon that will be on display in the library.

Additionally, to celebrate The Biggest Week in American Birding the Ida Rupp Public Library is hosting a bird scavenger hunt within the library.  Anyone visiting the library can participate by finding photos of birds hidden throughout the library. Those who find all of the birds hidden can enter to win a prize. The bird scavenger hunt begins is on right now and ends on May 31.
